Driving your career forward

At ERS we have a number of different entry level roles across various different teams, including Assistant Underwriters and Claims Technicians. Don’t worry if you’ve never worked in insurance it before, we provide full training. What’s most important to us is that you have a strong customer services focus.  If you’re a confident speaker and can talk to third parties and customers, then we are very interested in talking to you.

This is a great opportunity to kick start a career in insurance, where you could progress to become a team leader, underwriter or a claims specialist. You can also benefit from a CII apprenticeship program, fully funded by ERS. This is a recognised insurance qualification, not just in motor but across the insurance industry, which can push your career further and help you advance to more specialised claims and underwriting roles.

Our Swansea team pride ourselves in learning and development, as well as having a great team spirit. We host many social and charity events where everyone gets involved. These include charity quizzes, office competitions where teams decorate their space, as well as Summer and Christmas parties. Colleagues are also encouraged to take advantage of volunteering days to support charities and our local community.

PI Claims Handler

Working for ERS is more than just a job. No two days are the same, there is always something new to learn and there are countless opportunities for those who desire a career in the insurance industry.
Personally, having worked for ERS for the past 23 years I have gained a broad knowledge of the claims aspect of insurance and have been given countless hours of support and training to achieve the best in my role.
Every day I get to work with the most committed team of people and over the years have made the best, lifelong friends.
ERS is not just an insurance company, it is a company that values and supports it employees in every aspect of their lives. Every day I get to work for a company whose culture is to put their employees first, a company who I am extremely proud to work for.

Matt Gray

Claims Engineer

I started work at ERS in 2010 dealing with fault/non-fault claims, making liability decisions, dealing with recoveries, theft claims – you name it, I’ve probably dealt with it from a moped to a HGV and all that’s in between! I even had a day out at the Royal Welsh Show when I was working on the agricultural team.
My next move was to the total loss team. This was most probably my favourite area to work for as I got to value all types of vehicles which was interesting as I’m a massive petrol head and love anything with an engine.
The time came when I needed a new challenge and a very big challenge. This was to join the engineering team and obtain qualifications and start a proper career. I attended a bodyshop most Saturdays for almost four years to gain a good understanding and learned the life in the bodyshop. I was sent up the Thatcham and passed my ATA VDA.
I also had an experience of a lifetime at the Gumball3000. People like me don’t get chances like this, but on this occasion, yes, I was picked; it felt like a lottery win. ERS decided to underwrite the Gumball3000, and they wanted me to go out as the onsite claims handler. I travelled 3000 miles, 7 countries in 10 days and went to all luxurious hotels with famous celebrities like CeeLo Green.
