We are an insurance business comprised of two Lloyd’s of London syndicates; ERS, the UK’s largest specialist motor insurer at Lloyd’s, and IQUW which consists of a global Property and Specialty insurer based in London and a Bermuda based reinsurance platform.
ERS was established over 75 years ago and works with insurance brokers to underwrite all types of vehicles from everyday cars, vans, supercars, classic collections, and fleets of vehicles to combine harvesters, batmobiles and even the Gumball 3000 rally. Many of our products are distributed digitally, using the latest data enrichment and pricing modelling to provide the best cover and price to our policyholders. For the more complex risks, our teams of expert underwriters are on hand to understand the risks in more detail and ensure policyholders have the right cover.
IQUW was formed in 2021 and is a Property and Specialty insurer and reinsurer that combines digitalisation and intelligent automation with human expertise to make fast informed decisions providing a seamless service to our brokers and clients. Also in that year, we launched a new operation in Bermuda focused on reinsurance.
IQUW has a diverse portfolio of insurance products including Aviation, Cyber, Cargo, Crisis Management, Marine, Political Risk, Energy, Delegated Authority Property, Direct & Faculative Property, Directors & Officers, Financial institutions, Political Violence and Terror and War risks, plus Reinsurance for Property Treaty International and specific to the US and Specialty Reinsurance, both written in Bermuda.
Together, IQUW and ERS form IQUW Group, the 15th largest Managing Agency at Lloyd’s, writing more than $1.3Bn of specialty business in 2023.

ERS is the UKs leading specialist motor insurer and provides a range of motor insurance via a network of nationwide insurance brokers. ERS’ insurance products are provided through Lloyd’s and include cover for supercars, sports people and celebrities, private cars, classic cars, vans, taxis, minibuses, fleets, agricultural vehicles, special commercial vehicles and motor breakdown.
